RFP Examples That You Can Follow

August 8 2010

When it comes time to look for RFP examples, the internet has well over seven hundred thousand entries in this category. With so much to choose from, all written by people with different backgrounds, it would be easy to get a little confused. The critical component of this formal document is to correctly communicate what is being requested. This is so the chances of a response filling the specific needs of your business can occur.

The right kind of RFP examples to follow should be the ones that are properly prepared. This means they should have all the necessary components that are being requested. These documents can be as large as 100 pages for complex proposals, or as few as 10 for simple ones.

The first page of your RFP should be a title page with the name of your project, your company, and the date it was sent out. This should be followed by a table of contents. In the beginning of most RFP examples, there should be a summary of the proposal, and the need for which the proposal will address.

The next part should include the project’s description, how it will be implemented and then evaluated by the quality department, along with the needed specifications.

The organization of how the project will proceed, along with the schedule that the third party vendor must meet, has to be included in the proposal. This should include any flexibility within your project and what is stringent. In many cases, the need of a company has many components and they are not all needed at once. This has to be clearly defined in the RFP. Examples of this not being met are plentiful in the problems that have occurred between companies and their third-party vendors.

The one area most RFP examples do not forget is the placing of the budget that is set forth for the deliverable of the proposal. This should be listed last, not because it is the least important, but so it does not come into play how well the third-party vendor views the proposal. This way, the best likely and accurate response is possible.
